40 Days of Dating

Dearest readers: I have an obsession with the blog that’s recently gone viral, 40 Days of Dating. It’s essentially a blog that follows two friends living in NYC who have opposite relationship problems. Tim has issues with commitment and serial dating, and Jessica falls in love too easily. So the two of them design an experiment in which they date each other for forty days to learn about relationships and themselves. And they document it. Also, they’re both designers/artists so the blog is incredibly visual and beautiful. IT’S GREAT.

So below I wanted to share with you all a few of my favorite graphics from the blog. And I definitely recommend reading it – although, be warned, it’s addicting.

A Girl’s Love Affair with SHOPJEEN

A new obsession? The answer is YES!

SHOPJEEN is an online one-stop shop for accessories, from jewelry to iPhone cases to collars, sunglasses, and more. It was started not too long ago by a lovely GWU grad named Erin (who I had the pleasure of meeting today) and recently moved from DC to right here in NYC.

All of their merchandise is available online of course, but starting today SHOPJEEN is having a sample sale in their new adorable NYC showroom, and I strongly recommend stopping by! Located in the garment district (2 blocks from my internship, how convenient!), the SHOPJEEN showroom usually takes appointments, but today (Monday) through Saturday, they’re opening their doors to the public for an 11 am – 7 pm sample sale. And if you didn’t have enough reason to check it out already, the sale is supplemented by free Baked by Melissa cupcakes (my fav fav favorite) and champagne!

I was planning on stopping by tomorrow, but one of the SHOPJEEN girls handed me a flier on the street today advertising the sample sale, and I thought it was fate, and headed over directly after work today.

I made two purchases – Rocks Paper Metal teardrop studs that I’ve been eyeing on their website for like, a month, and adorable retro Teal Sorbet sunnies! Check them out below 🙂

You can shop online at SHOPJEEN.com, follow them on Instagram + Twitter at @shopjeen, and like them on Facebook here!

Summer 2012 Bucket List: NYC Edition

As you may or may not know about me, I am a huge list person. I make lists for everything, but one of my favorite types of lists is bucket lists. I’ve made not one, not two, but three bucket lists, for this summer alone.

The first is a list of all the things I’d like to do, learn, experience, and accomplish this summer. The second list is a shopping list of summer trends as well as staples – just everything that I need or want to buy this summer! A lot of those things have come out in my Currently Craving posts, but it involves everything from neon to high-low skirts to white jeans.

The third list is the one I’m most excited about: it’s my NYC Edition, organized by neighborhood. Last summer I interned in the city and I loved it, and had a lot of fun. But I didn’t take advantage of the city the way I intended to. So this summer, I made an NYC-specific bucket list to make sure I take full advantage of being in the greatest city on earth!

A huge thanks to one of my absolute favorite blogs, NYC PR Girls – I got a lot of great ideas from their District PRofiles, restaurant reviews, etc.
